As of 2026-09-27, the DEPLOY registry's top data-center operators by facility count are: Amazon Web Services (155 facilities, 3,201 MW disclosed); Microsoft (111 facilities, 3,780 MW disclosed); QTS Data Centers (110 facilities, 3,816 MW disclosed). Colocation providers like Equinix and Digital Realty run more distinct facilities; hyperscalers like AWS and Microsoft run fewer but larger ones.

Two very different answers depending on how you count. Colocation providers (Equinix, Digital Realty, and friends) operate the most distinct facilities worldwide. Hyperscalers (AWS, Microsoft, Google, Meta) run fewer facilities but the ones they build are much larger.
