Prometheus Hyperscale is a Wyoming-based developer of large-scale, energy-focused data center campuses for AI training and inference workloads. It was launched in September 2024 as a rebrand of Wyoming Hyperscale, whose original Evanston, Wyoming site became the anchor of a broader pipeline aimed at gigawatt-class AI campuses across the Rocky Mountain West and the Texas I-35 corridor. The company positions itself as a power-first developer: rather than leasing existing capacity, it co-develops on-site generation, long-duration storage, and carbon-capture with partners including ENGIE North America, Conduit Power, PureWest Energy, Spiritus, Casper Carbon Capture, and XL Batteries, then sells the resulting AI-ready halls to hyperscale and AI tenants. Its Evanston flagship and Casper expansion each carry an announced ceiling of roughly 1.25 GW, and a Texas campus with Istmo Energy was announced in August 2026 for a 2027 initial in-service. Leadership is the company's most visible asset. Bernard Looney, the former CEO of BP, joined as chairman in late 2024 and stepped into the CEO seat in March 2026. Trevor Neilson serves as president, Marc Chennault as CFO, and original founder Trenton Thornock remains as senior advisor. The company is privately held and has not disclosed a headline funding total; growth has been financed through project-level partnerships with power, transmission, and carbon partners rather than a single institutional round.
