Plus x Scania

Autonomous-trucking software company (formerly Plus.ai / PlusAI; founded 2016 in Cupertino by Stanford PhDs incl. CEO David Liu). Builds SuperDrive, an SAE Level 4 'virtual driver' designed to be factory-installed by truck OEMs. A planned go-public SPAC merger with Churchill Capital Corp IX (June 2025) was terminated in April 2026, leaving Plus private. Currently in OEM-integration and supervised fleet-trial stage; no driver-out commercial freight yet (driverless validation targeted 2026, commercial launch 2027).

Scania AB is a Swedish commercial vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Södertälje, Sweden, and a subsidiary of the TRATON GROUP ([Volkswagen group](/companies/volkswagen-group)). Scania produces trucks, buses, and engines, and is developing autonomous truck technology through a partnership with PlusAI, whose SuperDrive Level 4 virtual driver system is being integrated into Scania trucks for on-highway autonomous freight operations. Scania is also deploying autonomous mining trucks and has been testing autonomous vehicles since 2024.
