Who’s involved
Denvr Dataworks is a Calgary-based GPU cloud operator that markets itself as Canada's first sovereign commercial AI cloud, running its own modular data center campuses rather than reselling hyperscaler capacity. The company was founded in 2017 as a research shop focused on power and cooling for high-density compute, then pivoted into an AI infrastructure operator, standing up its first commercial "Modular SuperCluster" in Calgary in 2022. Denvr says it has invested more than $1 billion in AI compute infrastructure, with a modular design that scales from single 1 MW pods up to 100+ MW campuses across Canada and the United States. Where most neocloud rivals lead with Nvidia H100 density and pricing wars, Denvr's distinguishing bets are two: a "sovereign Canadian compute" pitch aimed at regulated buyers who want their data and inference to stay onshore, and unusually broad silicon diversity. Alongside Nvidia H200, H100, A100 and GH200 SXM systems, its published price list includes Intel Gaudi 2 nodes at $1.25 per GPU hour, a rare production offering. Denvr is listed as an Nvidia Preferred Partner and an Intel partner, offers per-minute billing with free ingress and egress, and bundles a startup credits program ("AI Ascend") with up to $500,000 per company. The operator has not disclosed an aggregate GPU count, MW online, headcount, or a priced funding round; leadership is a flat "chief officer" bench led by Geoff Gordon, with Kyle McCrindle running product and technology. Coverage in The Logic in April 2026 framed Denvr as an outlier in the AI infrastructure boom for staying vertically integrated inside Canada rather than chasing US hyperscaler contracts, positioning it against the more capital-intensive CoreWeave/Nebius model.
World leader in accelerated computing and AI (NASDAQ: NVDA). In physical AI, NVIDIA develops the Isaac robotics platform: the GR00T open foundation model, Jetson edge compute (AGX Thor), Isaac Lab and Isaac Sim simulation environments, and Omniverse. NVIDIA positions itself as the platform layer for the humanoid industry. Developer of [GR00T N1](/brains/gr00t-n1), the first open humanoid foundation model.
