Atlas is Boston Dynamics' current-generation all-electric humanoid, unveiled in April 2024 as the successor to the retired hydraulic research platform. Hyundai Motor Group acquired Boston Dynamics in 2020. The current registered deployment at Hyundai's Metaplant America facility (Savannah, Georgia), active since January 2026, is a first real-environment test inside the parent company's own factory rather than arm's-length pilot work at an independent customer. Atlas is not available for consumer purchase; Boston Dynamics has not published unit pricing for enterprise contracts.
Atlas is internal use only (not for retail), no capability claims are on file, 1 verified deployment is on file, and no incidents are on record.
