What the XPENG Robotaxi knows about you
XPENG's robotaxi line comprises three models announced at XPENG AI Day on November 5, 2025, powered by the same VLA 2.0 vision-centric model that drives XPENG's IRON humanoid and ADAS systems. Trial operation is expected in 2026, with mapping and navigation company Amap named as an early partner. AV-scope note: this is the pass's one autonomous-vehicle-side addition, included for consistency with the registry's existing AV coverage (Waymo, Zoox, Cruise, Nuro) and because it completes a VLT powers relation. Flagged as an AV-side entity. Depth note: robotaxi trials are pre-commercial as of mid-2026; maturity is research under the DEPLOY ladder pending real-world trial operation. Status should be firmed as trials begin.

What it collects about you
The data this device picks up.
Your body data
XPeng was fined 1 million yuan by Shanghai regulators for using facial recognition cameras to collect over 431,000 customer face images without prior consent.
Your location
XPENG's robotaxi uses a camera-only system with no LiDAR or HD maps, relying entirely on cameras and four proprietary AI chips for autonomous driving.
Where your data goes
Who else can see it once it leaves the device.
Shared with others
XPeng will open its robotaxi SDK to outside platforms, with Alibaba's Amap as the first partner, meaning your ride booking and personal data will flow through a major third-party platform.
Sent to the cloud
XPeng's global policy states data is primarily stored in the EEA, but its China policy confirms vehicle and robotaxi data is stored in a Hangzhou data center; robotaxi trip records, payment data, and location history flow through both XPeng and Alibaba's Amap cloud infrastructure.
Selling your data
XPeng's privacy policy explicitly states it will not sell personal data to anyone at any time for any purpose.
What you can control
Your say over the data it holds.
How long they keep it
XPeng retains personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in its privacy notice; under Chinese law, transaction records must be kept at least 3 years and vehicle sales records at least 10 years, but no robotaxi-specific retention schedule has been published.
Deleting your data
XPeng users can request restriction or deletion of information, object to processing, or withdraw authorization; account deletion is processed within 15 working days under the China policy, but no robotaxi-specific deletion mechanism for passenger trip data is documented.
