What it collects about you
The data this device picks up.
Your body data
Skydio collects employee fingerprints for facility access and timekeeping, kept for seven years after employment ends. No biometric collection from drone operators or bystanders is disclosed.
Your location
The X10 uses GPS to collect location information during normal operation and this cannot be disabled because it is required for safe flight; the drone broadcasts geolocation, emergency status, speed, and controller position under the FAA's Remote ID Rule, and precise geolocation of the drone and control station may be collected and processed by Skydio.
Where your data goes
Who else can see it once it leaves the device.
Shared with others
Skydio has shared identifiers and purchase history with advertisers, marketing partners, analytics companies, and social networks in a way that may count as a sale under California law, though Skydio says it does not sell customer data without authorization.
Training their AI
Skydio uses anonymized and de-identified media from its online systems to improve its products, and you can opt out anytime. The policy does not explicitly say whether this includes AI or machine learning model training.
Sent to the cloud
Skydio X10 GPS and location data is never uploaded to Skydio unless the customer decides to do so; the X10D offline variant does not host, process, or store customer media in Skydio's cloud at all, while the standard X10 can connect to Skydio's SaaS cloud services if subscribed.
Selling your data
Skydio does not sell personal information for monetary consideration and states it does not provide customer data to third parties unless authorized; however, its use of cookies and tracking technologies on its website may be considered a sale or sharing under California law for targeted advertising purposes.
What you can control
Your say over the data it holds.
How long they keep it
Customer data is kept for seven years after your last purchase. Website visitor data is kept for 13 months. No specific retention period for drone flight data, imagery, or telemetry is separately disclosed.
Deleting your data
You can request access, correction, or deletion of your personal info through Skydio's Access Request Portal or by calling their toll-free number.
