What the Limitless Pendant knows about you
The Limitless Pendant is a wearable AI voice recorder (a clip/pendant) from Limitless, the company formerly known as Rewind AI (founder Dan Siroker, ex-Optimizely). It records conversations and produces AI-generated notes, summaries, and a searchable memory via the Limitless app. It genuinely shipped: more than 10,000 preorders in 24 hours, with first units delivered in September 2024. On December 5 2025 Meta acquired Limitless, ending new Pendant hardware sales (existing customers supported for roughly another year) and sunsetting the legacy Rewind Mac app. The registry records it at commercial maturity with lifecycleState=discontinued: it shipped and sold to customers, then was discontinued through acquisition. This corrects the dispatch's open question (it was not a perpetual pre-order) and adds a finding beyond the brief, the Meta acquisition (acquirer recorded as company meta).

What it collects about you
The data this device picks up.
Recording you
Continuously records your conversations. An LED light shows when recording is active. Under the Terms of Service, you must proactively notify and get consent from everyone you record.
People around you
The Pendant records audio of anyone speaking near the wearer, capturing their voice, transcripts, and summaries; a white LED indicates recording is active, and wearers are required by Terms of Service to notify and obtain consent, but bystanders have no direct control over recordings of them.
Where your data goes
Who else can see it once it leaves the device.
Sent to the cloud
The Limitless Pendant uploads audio recordings to the cloud for processing and storage using Hardware Security Modules; end-to-end encryption is available as an optional Lockdown feature per meeting but is not enabled by default.
Shared with others
Limitless shares user data with vendors, service providers, and third-party AI providers to deliver services; data may also be shared with affiliates for AI model training purposes.
Training their AI
Limitless uses audio recordings and transcripts to train and improve AI and large language models, and this training may involve third parties including affiliates; bystander audio captured by the pendant may be included in training data.
What you can control
Your say over the data it holds.
How long they keep it
Recordings and transcripts stay in your account until you delete them or close the account. You can set auto-deletion windows from one day to indefinitely. Audio on the device itself is encrypted and cannot be read without the key.
Deleting your data
Users can manage, download, or delete their data at any time through the app; audio retention settings allow automatic deletion of audio after a configurable time period.
