You can order food from local businesses by asking an AI assistant like Claude. You tell it what you want, it finds the restaurant on DEPLOY Ground, checks that it's open, and places the order. You pick it up, or a robot brings it.

Direct ordering via OpenAI's Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP) is in progress. Today, ask ChatGPT to look up a business (e.g. “What are Franklin BBQ's hours and phone number?”) and it will find that from the business's DEPLOY Ground listing, then you order by phone or through their website.

Support via function calling is in progress. Today, Gemini can look up business information the same way ChatGPT can, above.

What if the restaurant isn't on AI ordering yet?

Most businesses on DEPLOY Ground haven't activated AI ordering yet. Your assistant can still find their hours, phone number, and website from their listing, so you can order that way. DEPLOY also logs every attempt, so the business can see “N AI agents tried to order from you this month” -- that demand signal is often what gets a business to claim their listing and go live.
