Renault Group and Wandercraft co-develop Calvin-40, a headless industrial humanoid for factory work. Renault defines the functional need and Wandercraft supplies the technical solution; Renault took a minority stake in Wandercraft in June 2025 alongside the company's Series D and is the first commercial customer. One unit is in trial in the wheel workshop at Renault's Douai plant. Renault states a roadmap of about 10 robots by the end of 2026 and 350 across its French and Spanish factories by the end of 2027; those are targets, not installed units.
